Admiral RK Dhowan, Chief of the Naval Staff is on a visit to Sri Lanka from 23-25 Nov 15 to participate in the sixth edition of the Annual International Maritime Conference, Galle Dialogue 2015. Indian Navy has been a regular participant in Galle Dialogue since its inception.
Galle Dialogue is an annual International Maritime Conference, conducted by Sri Lankan Navy and is aimed at bringing together a host of professionals to discuss and deliberate matters of maritime interest. The event is held in the historical port city of Galle, located in South Sri Lanka.
Over 105 delegates from 36 countries are expected to attend the event. The concept of this year's edition of Galle Dialogue is "Secure Seas through Greater Maritime Cooperation". The Chief of Naval Staff is scheduled to share his views on "Significance of Developing Mutually Beneficial Architectures and Partnerships for Maritime Security" during the first session of the event.
The Chief of Naval Staff is also scheduled to call on Mr Ranil Wickramasi nghe, the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Mr Karunasena Hettiarachchi, the Defence Secretary and meet Vice Admiral RC Wijeguneratne, the Commander of Sri Lankan Navy during his visit. Wide range of discussion will also be held on various maritime cooperation issues.
